I would love to see a PC re-release of the whole of the Halo series as I've long since transitioned to near exclusively PC gaming.Siegenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6649591714373684167.post-25530185202793101392013-07-10T22:31:32.437-04:002013-07-10T22:31:32.437-04:00Welcome and good starting post. It hasn't been six years for me (I picked up Halo and Halo 2 on clearance racks about four years ago), but I got that same chill at that epic line ("Sir, finishing this fight."), and I still feel miffed at the prospect of having to buy a $300+ game console just to "finish the (one) fight". I also had the same issue as you with Half-Life 2. My computer at the time had no external data stream (i.e.: not connected to Internet), so the game was useless to me. Needless to say, I was bummed.

Besides that, I *despise* FPS games on consoles. I was raised on Wolfenstein, Doom, Medal of Honor, etc., all on PC, and the console controls feel downright awkward compared to the elegant-and-intuitive "left-hand move on QWERTY, right-hand point/shoot on mouse" action. Plus, if you have a wife/kids, playing a console-based FPS late at night is ... problematic ... if you want/need audio. TV loud keeping everyone up == no good. PC with headphones == no problem.

While I hope Microsoft gets their gaming act together and re-releases the rest of the Halo series on PC (Collector's/Anniversary Edition boxed set, anyone?), I'm not holding my breath. It's one of the (very) few fights that remains unfinished.

And again, Welcome!Archernoreply@blogger.com
