ReplyDeleteA lot of people have been spoiling the ending. I'm glad you were able to enjoy it as it was meant to be seen.
ReplyDeleteI want Jane to do another Punisher so bad. He does the role so well.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the only person on the planet who loved "Punisher: War Zone." Jane wasn't bad, but he was upstaged by Travolta, and much of the movie (to me) fell flat. It just lacked that visceral feeling I craved. It was an action flick, and not a revenge flick.
ReplyDeleteRay Stevenson, on the other hand, just *was* the Punisher to me, and delivered exactly what I wanted: a modern-day Charles Bronson movie where the protagonist kills the shit out of a lot of scumbags. About the only thing wrong with that movie was Jigsaw, who camped it up and chewed the scenery a bit too much.
That said, if Jane made another Punisher movie closer to Dirty Laundry in tone, I would so go watch it.
I was under the impression that all alcohol was flammable if you aerosolized it... which is what he was doing when he poured it over the guy.
ReplyDeleteHe did not aerosolize it. Seriously. He did not, you need either heat (which 80 proof won't provide enough of when ignited) or a special nozzle and high pressure to do that.
ReplyDeleteYou can flambe 80 proof alcohol as the pan will provide the extra heat necessary to vapourise alcohol (by taking it up beyond 80 degrees C, at which point the alcohol will start to vapourise and then the fumes can be ignited). But if you take it off the heater the fire will go out as the pan cools.

I do like that bottles really are strong enough to do that.

ReplyDeleteYup. Never clock somebody with a full bottle, unless you want to see them room-temprature.
ReplyDeleteWhat's funny is that I thought it was perfectly reasonable for the Jack Daniels to burn, but thought it implausible that the bottle would stand up to that kind of abuse.
