The universal hatred of the IRS is what makes this scandal so important. It draws support from all walks of life and both sides of the political fence. If pressed to the limit, it could give rise to genuine change: all the way from the repeal of the "emergency" withholding tax to the abolition of the income tax itself. At least, we can hope.
