Concealed Carry Fashion Show

I'm a model
You know what I mean
And I do my little turn on the catwalk at 19:35

For those who'd like to get a better look at me, here are some pictures courtesy of  the talented Craig Fritz:

I've just finished crossing the stage and am about to do my first pose for the crowd.

Amanda told the crowd to "give it up" for me, so I did a little dance.

This is my favorite photo.

At center stage, about to make my big reveal.

The big reveal!

The bag I modeled was the GTM (Gun Toten Mamas) 108 Sling Backpack.
It was VERY nifty and I wish I could have kept it!

All of us models together on the stage.

A different angle.

My LTUE Experience in Pictures

If you've listened to this week's episode of the Assorted Calibers Podcast, you've heard my recounting of events at the Life, the Universe, and Everything Symposium in Utah. I'm not going to tell those stories again, but what I will do is give you some photographs to go with them.

Thursday: Fundamentals of Self-Defense Law

Despite the name, this panel was more like "Gun Owners Talk About Things Modern Entertainment Gets Wrong About Firearms."  This series of pictures is from where I described the plot of an Arrow episode where bad guys stole industrial diamonds and used them to tip bullets so they could shoot through police kevlar.

Not shown is where LawDog (left) was beating his head against the table in frustration at the plot stupidity -- I think I caused him actual physical pain and I was worried I'd broken him -- but you can see his anguished reactions.

Friday: Oppressing a Gender, Race, or Species

I have no photographs from this panel, unfortunately. In my opinion it wasn't very spectacular so you aren't missing anything.

Saturday: Warfare in the Age of Drones and Robots

This is the one you've been waiting for: the International Lord of Hate being presented with an Operation Blazing Sword shirt.

Yes, my hair is different in these photos. I had a wig malfunction and I replaced it with a backup. I think this one looks better anyway.

I wish to state for the record that I got permission from Mrs. Correia before taking this pose. To her credit, she thought it was hilarious.

And here we have Larry Correia posing with a transwoman. Notice how he isn't afraid to put his arm around me. Notice how he doesn't mind that my hand is on his chest. Notice he's smiling so hard he's squinting.

The man is a giant teddy bear.

Premiering at SHOT 2019

This photograph, taken by me in 2012 and appearing in Kel-Tec's 2019 catalog:

Late last year, Oleg Volk called me up and said "Congratulations! You sold a photograph!"

My reply was "Blarghle?" or something similarly intelligent, as I had no idea what he was talking about.

"One of the pictures you took of me during the hog hunt," he explained. "Kel-Tec wanted pictures of the RFB for their catalog and they didn't like any of mine, but they loved yours. Since you took the picture, I paid you a licensing fee."

"Huh," I garbled while checking my PayPal. It's uncouth to discuss how much I received, so I'll just say that it went a long way towards easing the pain of Christmas bills.

If I'm being honest, I prefer this picture:

It's a lot more dynamic and really captures Oleg's personality. But I get why Kel-Tec chose the other photo: they want to showcase the rifle, not the shooter, and the one they picked does exactly that.

For the story of how I was part of a hog hunt with Oleg Volk, go here.

High Quality Non-Content

So, apologies for the lack of depth this week, but I've a friend in town and am quite busy. And am on
vacation, technically. Here's what I've been up to, mainly:

My friend and I visited The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, where we saw..

Chicago Pile-1, the world's first Nuclear Reactor, in Lego.

Vintage radio. My Fallout fanboyism is showing.
Sweet Noir Film Posters.

Then we climbed a mountain. Well, we drove up a mountain at least. On the way, we stopped in an area with lots of warning signs.

Please, do approach. Feed the bears.

Whoops. Somebody fed the bears.
10,678 feet up. Give or take. That's the city, down below.

Proper content resumes next week. I have something that's been irking me that I need to expand my thoughts on.
