Killin' It on Twitter

Last week I was informed that "Whoever is running the twitter page is killin it, pun not intended". Well, that person was me. While I usually let my friendly Social Media Mammal handle those sorts of things, in the aftermath of hero Eli Dicken stopping the murderer at Greenwood Park Mall I felt it necessary to take the reins for a bit in order to make some good points -- and, of course, get in some shots at Shannon Watts, who posted this tweet... and then deleted it, likely on the advice of her lawyers.

I don't know why she thought deleting it would do any good. The internet is forever, after all. 

She could have issued a retraction and apologized, of course, but that would be admitting she was wrong, and she won't do that. So now she and/or Moms Demand Action will likely be sued by Eli Dicken's lawyer, Guy Relford, for defamation.

Anyway, I went on a bit of a tear after that.  

Remember this: People who consider themselves your betters will will make excuses for why dozens of LEO with body armor, rifles, and qualified immunity spent an hour letting a murderer slaughter children because "The killer's rifle was too scary"...

... but they will also belittle and mock a random man, alone and armed only with a pistol, who managed to stop another mass shooter who had a similarly scary rifle, because the lone man could only stop the mass shooter after 3 people were killed...

... and in the case where a pistol-carrying woman in West Virginia stopped a spree shooter before he could kill anyone at a birthday party, they'll do their best to ignore it and memory-hole it.

Furthermore, gun prohibitionists have managed to twist language to their advantage in a manner that is as impressive as it is evil. You see, the FBI defines a "mass shooting" as any incident in which at least four people are murdered with a gun...

... and so this gives us what is effectively "Schrödinger's Mass Shooting".

If an armed citizen is not able to stop the shooter before four people are killed, it's proof that concealed carry doesn't stop mass shooters....

... but if an armed citizen *is* able to stop the shooter before four people are killed, it doesn't qualify as a mass shooting, and therefore it doesn't count as being stopped.

Either way, the gun prohibitionists win.
