My only political opinion of the season

I'm really looking forward to this November, when we can stop hating each other because of our politics and go back to hating each other because of our race and our religion and our sexuality.

  1. Can't we all just get along? I'm just so chilled with everyone around me, well, unless you shoot a 1911, then you suck and should die immediately.

  3.  My condolences.  I wasn't referring to you of course.  I'd never accuse you of anything so heinous as being a commie.  lol

  4. My blog is a judgement-free zone when it comes to platforms and calibers, okay?  Although you will probably get some ribbing if you buy a Hi-Point.

  5. I refuse to hate anyone because of  of their race, or religion, or their sexuality.  I prefer the purity of hating people because I'm a hateful, embittered ass!  In fact, i hate people because it makes me feel better about whstever it is that makes me so hateful!

Seriously--I'm in my 50s, and I remember when we could vehemently disagree with someone, and buy the the next round of beers.  The greatest threat to our freedom isn't Islamic terrorists, or right wing wing nuts, or even Gay people and Atheists (or Christians if you're an atheist or what ever!), it's the fact that we no longer seem to believe that we can disagree in good faith and with intellectual and moral integrity.

This is what will destroy our Republic, and I'm as guilty as anyone.

Not a comfortable thing to know about one's self.

  6. I am only intolerant of intolerance.

    And stupidity.

Actually, I encounter far more stupidity than intolerance, so let's make that my #1 thing to be intolerant of.

Or does that make me stupid?

    AHH; VICIOUS CIRCLE!

  7. Can't we also hate people based on their entertainment preferences?

  8. Dude, I didn't mean that comment to turn into an ACTUAL flame war.

  9.  I took your comment in the spirit it was intended and responded in kind.  Unfortunately communication by text lacks the subtleties and finer points of communication face to face.  I took no offense from your comment and intended none myself.

  10. Okay, good to hear. Teasing is hard to convey through text alone.

Which is why I suggest the use of emoticons!  :D
